File Permissions
To change a files mode use: $ chmod 777 file.txt
| String | Octal | Description |
| rwxrwxrwx | 777 | Read, Write, Execute for all users. |
| rwxr-xr-x | 755 | Read and Execute for all users. Owner has write permission. |
| rwxr-x--- | 750 | Read and Execute for owner and group. Owner has write permission. Users not in the group can not access the file. |
| rwx------ | 700 | Read, Write, and Execute for the owner only. |
| rw-rw-rw | 666 | Read and Write for all users. Nobody can execute. |
| rw-rw-r-- | 664 | Read and Write for the owner and group. Read-Only for everyone else. |
| rw-rw---- | 644 | Read and Write for owner. Read-Only for everyone else. |
| rw-r----- | 640 | Read and write for owner. Read-Only for group. No permission for others. |
| rw------- | 600 | Read and write for owner. No permission for others. |
| r-------- | 400 | Read for owner. No permission for anyone else. |
